Painting Florals with Tia Bowman
Join a relaxed, hands-on floral painting workshop designed to explore both realism and creative expression. Painting florals is especially rewarding, offering a balance of structure and freedom while inviting close observation of nature’s subtle beauty.
In this 3.5-hour session, participants will learn how to draw and paint a detailed flower while covering the fundamentals of floral anatomy, light, shadow, and shading.
The class will also incorporate more playful, abstract techniques and expressive mixed-media mark-making, encouraging artwork that feels both grounded and unique. Open to all skill levels, this workshop is designed to build confidence while fostering a sense of creativity and enjoyment in the painting process.

Tia Bowman is a visual artist known for her large-scale abstract floral paintings that combine bold color, rich texture, and a sensual visual language. Her florals blur the line between feminine sensuality and creative expression.
Tia’s art encompasses all of her former professional careers as a fashion designer, a florist and interior designer.
Based on Shelter Island, Tia is an active member of the NAWA (National Association of Women’s Artists), ARTSI and SIAC art communities.
